This morning I decided to throw together some tunes for a new mix. It's 53 minutes long and includes the music stylings of Koushik, Megapuss, Can, Panda Bear, Devo, T. Rex, Donovan, Paul Simon and a few others. DOWNLOAD
I had the chance to show some new work earlier this month in Cleveland at the Front Room Gallery in a group show called Fine Line along with Dustin Amery Hostetler, Ryan Santos and a few others. I'll put some photographs up after the show comes down in October. (Photo: Ryan Santos)
The Art Director's Club recently announced the winners of the sixth class of Young Guns. I was fortunate enough to be one of them. It's good company. Congrats to Garrett, Wyeth, Justin, Mike and Emily as well!!!
So after 2.5 years of the last portfolio site, I decided to redesign. I added a bunch of new work (I got rid of even more). I have a few more projects I am going to put up over the next couple of weeks as they trickle in and I photograph them. I am going to really try hard and update as often as I can. I also wanna thank Justin for dealing with my nagging CSS questions too. Not sure why, but the internet seemed so much easier to make back in the 90s.
Threadless screenprinted an old design of mine as a part of their new print series. Matt Daly printed them. I just got a few in the mail and the printing and registration is fantastic.
I got a little profile in the new Juxtapoz.
Rad Mountain designed the cover of the latest issue of Faesthetic! Out now!
Awhile ago I was invited to participate in RE:UP Magazine's middle signature. The issue just came out a few weeks ago. The theme was FATE & DESTINY and the colors were Blue and Yellow.
GOOD Magazine opens every issue with some sort of visual representation of the issue's theme. For their 9th issue, my studiomates and I were tapped for their "food" issue. It worked out well, we each got a page. I drew the apple.
Hello. Thank you for taking your time out of your busy day to visit my site. As noted in the URL, my name is Damien Correll and I am a twenty-six year old freelance designer living and working in Brooklyn, NY. I share a studio space with some all-around good guys at Rad Mountain. I'm originally from Pennsylvania where I lived in a variety of rural and suburban towns. I studied in Philadelphia (UArts '04) and later stuck around the city and worked for Urban Outfitters for a couple of years. Since then I have had the opportunity to to work with Nike, Yale University, K2, Rome SDS, Plug Research, Nickelodeon, Zoo York and Polyvinyl Records to name a few. I have also been privileged enough to be featured in the pages of New York Magazine, XLR8R, Juxtapoz, IdN, STEP, NOVUM, The New York Times Magazine, Faesthetic and I am a regular contributor to Swindle Magazine.
I am always looking for other things to get my hands in... namely all types of freelance stuff, type development, record covers, magazine illustrations, product development, filling pages in your friend's zine and most other art projects.
