The Vinyl Record Vignette was made up of found speakers,
turntables, receivers and album covers. Six album covers were painted
and then screen printed on, three of which had an abridged timeline history
of the vinyl record while the others had diagrams and text explaining
select portions of the technology. The aesthetics of the prints were developed
by combining album cover aesthetics from the 50s and 70s, the heydays
of Vinyl. I built two shelves out of plywood and peg board to showcase
the album covers. These shelves were inspired by record stores of my childhood.
