The Dial-up Modem Vignette was created by stacking six Macintosh Computers on top of each other. There are twelve different screens displayed, each of which was cycled one after another with an animation that is meant to mimic a website or bulletin board system loading. The screens explained the different terminology of the technology and essentially how they worked. There were also some screens that elaborated on the history of the modem and its various speed stages. In order to make my argument stronger, I chose to use an aesthetic that resembles early bulletin board systems. This was done by limiting the color palette and using ASCII elements to develop the illustrations and text blocks.
